A block of timber frame construction frame flats under construction destroyed in a massive fire. Nobody was on the site itself at the time the fire starting at around 7.15pm.  It took down telephone lines and residents were evacuated from the immediate area because of heat radiation.  Station Manager Dean Elliott said: “There were four or five floors together with a basement and it's collapsed. The scaffolding is still up but there's a threat of that collapsing on the road. Building Control are to inspecting the damage.
